The GAMC Municipal Gallery, located on the first floor of the historic Palazzo delle Muse, in Piazza Mazzini, Viareggio, boasts a collection of over 3.000 works of about 750 artists, protagonists of the 20th-century art.
Most of these works, about 2.300, are graphic works of contemporary European art, donated by senator Giovanni Pieraccini to the city. In addition to these there is the core of 50 works by the painter native from Viareggio Lorenzo Viani - one of the greatest exponents of Italian expressionism - from the Varraud-Santini collection, and 45 works by important Italian authors of the 1900s from the Lucarelli donation.
Altogether, more than 3.000 works that cyclically create new thematic exhibitions, allowing the visitor to admire from time to time the immense artistic patrimony of the gallery, which represents in the Italian art entourage one of the most important exhibition centers specialized in graphics.
The new outfit is curated by Dr. Alessandra Belluomini Pucci, director of the museum.
