Giacomo Puccini, descendant of a family of composers who, in the space of about two centuries, represented the musical tradition of Lucca, along with other important musicians, like Francesco Gemignani, Luigi Boccherini and Alfredo Catalani, lives in a house in Corte S. Lorenzo, in the heart of the historical center of Lucca, where he also attended the Conservatory "G. Pacini "(today Luigi Boccherini), until part to complete his studies in Milan.

Puccini then returns to his homeland, while his works reap success in the major Italian and foreign theaters: hunting enthusiast, as well as boats and cars, finds inspiration for the music on the shores of Lake Massaciuccoli in Torre del Lago. Many are suggestions - places, environments, people - that the territory of the province of Lucca offers the Master: the mountain of Celle di Camaiore to the sea of Versilia.
